The movie was based on the ancient Mayan phenomenon, that December 21, 2012 on their calendar is the end of the world. The planet would destroyed  because of solar flares and killed all the people on the earth. The movie begins with a warning about the increased temperature of the earth core. Leader of big countries secretly began a project to ensure humanity's survival by building enormous arks in a secret mountain at China. However, the ticket for the ark are only sell to the important and rich people in the world that mean only these people are able to survive when that they come. "2012" shows a very strong storyline with awesome special effects on the earthquake in California., and the destruction of the whole American continent. If the ends of the planet really comes, it's impossible for people to escape from the disaster. Human cannot withstand the power of the nature.

However, “2012” is not just a movie that talks about how people die at the end of the world, it also reflected humanity and class separation. "2012" shows audiences the selfishness of human, that all the riches are get on to the arks and survive, but the ordinary people must die.

Story :-  "The Day After Tomorrow" is a 2004 American science fiction, disaster film directed, co-produced and co-written by Roland Emmerich. Based on the 1999 book 'The Coming Global Superstorm' by Art Bell and Whitley Strieber, the film stars Dennis Quaid, Jake Gyllenhaal, Sela Ward, Emmy Rossum and Ian Holm. It depicts catastrophic climate effects following the disruption of the North Atlantic Ocean circulation. A series of extreme weather events usher in global cooling and lead to a new Ice Age.

Jack Hall, an American paleoclimatologist and his colleagues Frank and Jason, drill for ice-core samples in the Larsen Ice Shelf for the NOAA, when the ice shelf suddenly splits away. At a UN conference in New Delhi, Jack discusses his research showing that climate change could cause an Ice Age, but US Vice President Raymond Becker dismisses his concerns.
A massive tropical depression develops in the northern hemisphere which splits into three gigantic hurricane-like Superstorms above Canada, Scotland and Siberia, siphoning frozen air from the upper troposphere into their center which flash-freezes anything caught in their eyes with temperatures below '-150' degrees Fahrenheit ( -101 degrees Celsius ). The weather worsens across the world: Tokyo is struck by a giant hailstorm and Los Angeles is devastated by a tornado outbreakoutbreak.

The North American Superstorm creates a massive tsunami-like storm surge which quickly inundates Manhattan, forcing Sam's group to seek shelter at the New York City public library, but not before Laura accidentally cuts her leg.
Rapson and his team perish in the European storm.
Meanwhile, Becker is informed that Blake's motorcade got caught in the superstorm and neither of them that are involved made it to Mexico.
Days later, the superstorms dissipates. After finding many civilians, including those who left the library, finding Sam's group alive.

NoteActually both the movies are very good. Both have been built on the basis of fantasy about the end of the world.
